My name is Julie

I am a lesbian single mother of three children, and I am in great danger.

My name is Julie, a lesbian single mother of three children, two boys and one girl but I managed to escape death in Uganda with only two boys and the girl was snatched away from me. My first born is aged 13 years and the second one is aged 7 years.

Due to my sexuality, my boys are facing serious hatred that's putting their innocent lives at risk of being claimed. They are being beaten, bullied, teased, denied services, freedom and rights eg education because they are lesbian's children . My boys can't play and associate freely as other children .

Due to my sexuality still, am facing high discrimination and hatred in the community that has left me unemployed to meet my needs and my kids' necessities.

We fled Uganda to Kenya for our lives still because we were targeted,

It was one evening when I received a call from someone I didn't know well, he said am calling because I petty you so much and because your late husband was my buddy so am doing this for him, he told me that he was paid alot of money to come and kill me with my two sons on that day and he told me I can't kill you but am going to do something tonight to complete my job so please if you still want to live get your children and find somewhere else to sleep tonight and he asked me not to ask any questions about that.

I was scared and I didn't know what to do but after few minutes I got back in my senses and I called my friend who lived in the next village and I asked her to let me and my children spend a night at hers and she accepted. I got a small bag with some few clothes in much fear and we went to my friends and later at night at around 2am. My neighbors called me shouting Wake up and get out of the house after few minutes when I was still in panic the man who spared our lives called me again and told me to go as far as possible and never look back .

He also told me that next time my enemies who wanted us dead may pay someone else who might not have mercy to spare my life so the following morning I started thinking of where I can go and Kenya was the nearest country to run to. That's how I ended up in Kenya and that's where my second sufferings begins.

We were registered in Nairobi and later brought in the camp ( block 13) hoping to get help by UNHCR Kenya but I was wrong, we have suffered! We have gone through hell in this camp which makes me regret why I came in Kenya, why I didn't choose to remain in my country and die there

As a mother, am passing through a horrible time, depressed, living in fear, we can't go back home in Uganda yet our lives continue to be at risk, here in our asylum country where we have spent almost 4 years in our asylum.

The situation is continuously failing us every single second of our stay here.
